Prosperity doesn’t begin in your bank account. It begins in your identity.
Because your financial life always mirrors what your nervous system believes is possible.
If your system learned:
“I’m not enough.”
“I’m not worthy.”
“There’s never enough.”
Do any of these resonate with you?
It will unconsciously hold you hostage to this level of identity.
This is why discipline alone doesn’t create peace with money.
Identity must shift first. When I talk about identity, I am referring to the “old story” or existing subconscious identity you are holding now. Once you recognize what that is, you can consciously shift to a “new story” or new identify in how you want to operate with money. Making this kind of identify shift ripples through how you operate in general. It becomes the new foundation of who you are, because we are talking about identify shift, not just behavior shift or mindset shift. This level of foundational shift ripples through all areas of your life, not just money.
For example: A client that I worked with was caught up in an old story of “I am not enough.” This affected how she was approaching pitching consultation bids with companies. She was taking the company at face value of what they said they could afford. She was stuck in accepting what they were willing to pay her because operating in an old story of “I am not enough” caused her to just accept what people think they should pay her. After we spent time discussing this and she was in observation of this old pattern being activated, she took steps to reposition how she was going to approach the company and step in to asking for her value. She stepped into a new identify of “I am enough, just being here on this planet” and then operating by showing the company her value and how she can support them to make real change, and that value is worth paying more for. The result was that she got what she asked for, even when they said they couldn’t afford it in the first place. She was hired for the work.
How do you shift your identity? The first thing is to be in observation of how you are operating around money. See if you can identify and name the “old story.” Once you can identify it, then you can see how it being operationalized in your life. When you are at a place of letting go of this “old story”, then you can identify what is the “new story” that aligns to your vision of what you want to create. This is the work I do with women because honestly, it is hard to become someone new without having someone there to support you to become this new identity. Your current environment and network will only be used to how you operate in the “old story.” So, it is important to have someone mirror and reflect with you as you are building up this new identity.
When identity shifts:
• Decisions become clear
• Anxiety decreases
• Confidence increases
• Wealth becomes sustainable
Not through force—but through alignment.
Reflection:
What is the deeper story your financial life is reflecting right now?
